Who was Heru?
According to ancient Egyptian mythology Heru also referred to as Horus (in Greek writings) was the son of ASR and AST and nephew of SET who 'stole his bithright by killing his father and claiming succession to the throne. He subseuently won a legal battle gainst his uncle and/or murdered him to reclaim the throne.
Who was Set?
Set was brother of ASR (Osiris), son of NUT and GEB, whose twin sister was Nepthys.
One of the earliest deities, with a strong following in Upper Egypt. Originally highly regarded as tahe god of the desert (the Red Lands).
The Golden Age?
This referes to a period of time (also called the New Kingdom) when an explosion of creativity, wealth and power inEgypt that made it the envy of the world. After defeating the Hyskos invaders, successive Pharaohs expanded and mainained their empire through force and diplomacy. In the process, they won Egypt vast amounts of gold, influence nd respect.
