Ancient Wisdom for Transformation in Real Time
At KMT Transformational Astrology, we explore how the three sacred seasons and twelve Neters can be used as practical tools for self-knowledge, personal development and transformation.
This is not simply about predicting what may happen. It is about recognising the forces available to you, understanding your natural qualities and learning how to participate consciously in your own development.
Akhet — The Season of Inundation
Akhet begins the sacred annual cycle with the rising waters of the Nile, when the familiar boundaries of the land disappear beneath the flood and the earth surrenders itself to renewal. Mystically, Akhet is the season of receptivity, cleansing and unseen potential: what appears to be submerged or lost is actually being prepared for another beginning. It invites us to release our attachment to what has been, trust the deeper rhythms of change and allow new possibilities to form before they can yet be seen. Within Akhet dwell Djehuti, Maat, Wadjet and Mut, bringing wisdom, balance, protection and nurturing to this period of preparation. As the waters gradually withdraw, they leave behind the rich fertile earth; what was hidden beneath the flood is ready to emerge, and so Akhet quietly gives birth to Peret.
Peret — The Season of Emergence
Peret is the season when the renewed earth awakens and green shoots break through the dark soil—the invisible promise of Akhet becoming visible life. It represents emergence, creation, growth and conscious development, reminding us that transformation requires participation: seeds must be tended, ideas must be developed and potential must be given form. Khunum, Shu, Auset and Ausar accompany this stage of the journey through creation, openness, restoration and regeneration, each expressing a different aspect of becoming. Peret asks us to recognise what is beginning to grow within ourselves and to nourish it patiently rather than demanding immediate results. Eventually the tender shoot becomes the mature plant; possibility becomes accomplishment, and the work begun beneath Akhet's waters approaches fulfilment. Thus Peret ripens naturally into Shomu, the season when what has been cultivated is finally ready to be gathered.
Shomu — The Season of Harvest
Shomu is the season of harvest, manifestation, fulfilment and illumination, when the fruits of the preceding seasons are revealed and gathered beneath the strengthening sun. Here we encounter Ptah, Heru, Khepera and Sekhmet, bringing creative manifestation, vision, transformation and powerful purposeful action to the completion of the cycle. Shomu asks us to recognise what our choices have produced: to celebrate what has flourished, learn from what has not, and understand that every harvest contains both achievement and instruction. Yet completion in KMT is never a final ending. The harvested field gradually becomes dry and empty, the old cycle exhausts itself, and once again the distant waters begin to rise. What has been gathered becomes wisdom carried forward, while what has served its purpose is released. Shomu therefore returns us to Akhet, and the circle begins again—not as a simple repetition, but as another opportunity to enter the waters with greater understanding and continue the eternal journey of renewal, becoming and transformation.
